The predecessor of the Seiko watch brand Corporation was founded in 1881 by Kintaro Hattori "K. Hattori and Co. Ltd." was founded in Tokyo. The company initially engaged in the import and wholesale of watches. Later, they aimed to localize watchmaking, then develop new technologies, and manufacture custom-designed products.
