The attention of the Swedish Tysander was attracted by the so-called NATO strap on Wellington's arm, on which a high-quality, expensive watch was attached. Tysander fell in love with military-style accessories and started his watch company a few years later. He named the new brand after the Australian world traveler Daniel Wellington.
